Seductive aromas of musk and freesia flower, and the sweetness of Brioche. On the palate, a much leaner picture. Exotic spice, tart apricot and the juiciness of young grass hearts. Textured, aromatic, with fine phenolics leading to a long drying finish.
Notes: This renowned difficult variety found its balance this year and we finally were able to harvest a meaningful crop. Harvested with only minimal bronzing to preserve a freshness of flavour and crispness of structure. 12% new oak, 10 months in barrel on full lees. Very little malolactic allowed, no lees stirring. Bottled Jan '09.

93 Points. Sporting a good dose of snazzy oak for the moment, there's plenty of fruit to carry it off: orange zest and ripe apricots show spicy notes and airy fragrance. Ngeringa's trademark textural harmony is evident with a ball of fleshy apicot flavour holding elegantly through the finish.

The flavours are excellent. Stones and woodspice, ginger and nectarines. It tastes fresh and medium-rich, and in terms of flavour profile I reckon it's exactly right.
