White peach, lemon cream and the scent of jasmine flower. Wild yeast spiciness and subtle crouton toast. On the palate again white peach, Bosc pear and the delicacy of green tea. Zesty. Finish textured and lingering.
Notes: Our fourth Chardonnay and the first under our Ngeringa label. `The last of the fruit was picked early in the morning just as the extraordinary heat wave reared its head in March. Fruit on the north and southern sides of the vines were picked and fermented separately. All ferments (wild) fermented like a dream, steady and uncomplicated. Malolactic allowed to start in all barrels at their leisure and halted soon after to preserve the acid structure. All natural acid! Kept on lees until blending, a month before bottling. Bottled Jan '09.

96 points. Good colour, a very complex bouquet, with barrel ferment and intense cool-grown fruit in a grapefruit and white peach spectrum; has great length and thrust. Cellar to 2015.

4 stars. Totally convincing chardonnay with white stone fruit and floral scents adding all the high points in the beginning, then lovely bodywork and oak spice notes.

A savoury cool-climate Chardonnay wiht restrained white peach fruits, a flinty edge and a mealy layer of oak. Textural, complex and layered palate with a smooth build, bright acid and lingering toasted cashew finish.

92 points. Quite a savoury cool-climate style with restrained white peach fruits, a flinty edge adn a mealy layer of oak. The palate cuts a smooth transition and build, threaded with bright acid that runs clean through the finish. Lingering grilled nut flavours.

91+ points. Flavour-wise it's excellent. It tastes of white peach and tart pear, lees and creamy/spicy oak. It's very tight through the finish and has excellent, unforced, intensity. Give it two more years in the bottle, and it should drink beautifully.
