NGERINGA Viognier 2010

Viog

Fresh apricots abounding, jasmine, green tea and musk on the nose.  On the palate, the spice of cloves and the lusciousness of exotic fruits.  A little white cheese perhaps.  A mouthfilling white wine restrained by savoury spice and fine tannins.

 

WINEMAKING NOTES
Harvested with only minimal bronzing to preserve a freshness of flavour and crispness of structure. 20% new oak, 11 months in barrel on full lees. Partial malolactic allowed, no lees stirring. Bottled Aug 2011. Interestingly, half of the final blend was macerated on skins for 48hrs before pressing to barrel adding significantly to the fine and deep textured Viognier that it is.
